A Hot Chocolate Valentine

I belong to the Paper Crafter's Library (there's a link over on the right side bar) and last November saw this cute Hot Chocolate Holder by Tracy Wegener.  If you want to see the instructions it's easy to join.  This was easy to make and I'm hoping to make at least one more.  This one will go to my younger daughter in her Valentine box.  The little test tube came from Papertrey Ink.  After I took the photo I realized the tube should have been in the middle.
Here's what it looks like inside.  I bought some gourmet hot chocolate:
I've spent a majority of the day working on one section of my kitchen cupboard painting job.  I have taken everything out of the cupboards, cleaned the inside, removed the doors and drawers, removed all of the hardware, washed them down and now I need to de-gloss, sand, primer and paint.  I'm hoping I'll be done in a month.  I have a very small, postage-size kitchen but I do have lots of cupboards and drawers.  Gotta keep my eye on the end game - a fresh-looking, clean kitchen!  Then John is going to put in a new sink and faucet for me.

What projects are you doing right now?  Things like my project always get worse before they get better.

Thanks for stopping in today.  I appreciate each and every one of you.

Blessing from Yesterday:  Beginning my quilting class.

  1. I hope you took some before pictures! Can't wait to see your end result.

We are between projects right now. We just finished a major master bath and minor second bath remodel.

Our next big project is a new patio. In October of 2009 we put a new roof on our house. We added a 15x20 porch overhang to the back of the house. It faces west and it was impossible to sit out there in the summer evening. So far that lovely space has a 6x10 slab of cement and some grass under it right in front of the patio door. The goal is a stamped concrete patio with a brick wall enclosure. It's going to be an expensive project; so it had to wait while we fixed our leaky master bath shower.

I can't wait to see how it turns out!

  2. Very cute!!! Thanks for sharing. Good luck on your kitchen. I had begun that chore, and injured my ankle in July, so had to quit. Hoping to get back to it next month! Have a good day!

  3. How adorable Susie, I love the little marshmallows in the tube too!
Your kitchen project sounds just the job for a New Year task! We have so many jobs to do around the home...difficult to know where to begin!

  4. A hot chocolate valentine is always fun Susie and this is very cute! You sound very efficient with the painting job - best wishes with that. Everything needs painting in my house but I need to take small areas at a time.

    1. I'm not so efficient - I have a friend that's a contractor and he is giving me advise. I need to take small areas, too. Otherwise I'm left with no stamping time.

  5. Nothing too major with our house as it is 7 years old, although my husband pointed out drywall tape hanging from the ceiling over the shower. Not quite sure how to handle that.
My project right now is making a prayer flag for a niece who is facing a bone marrow transplant. I had not heard of them until a few months ago. They are flown in the wind to express hopes and dreams (a prayer) to the world.

    1. I'd like to know more about the prayer flag. I know someone I'd love to make one for.
