A Card and A Little Contest

If you use Copics you may be particularly interested in winning this book by Marianne Walker called Shadows and Shading.  I purchased one and then I won one.  If you are interested in entering to win my extra one, here's the details:

This is open to anyone, anywhere
Only one entry per person
Contest is open until Sunday, January 15th, 2012, 9a.m. central time.  I will draw one name to win the book.
To enter, leave a comment, on this post only, telling me what you do on Valentine's Day
You must leave some way for me to contact you.  If you don't claim the book within 48 hours of winning, I'll pick another winner

Here's one more card I sent to the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The hardest part of this card was lining up all of those squares.  Hopefully the card was useful for someone.

I'm going to try and squeeze in some stamping for an hour as soon as I post this.  I have a Landlord meeting at noon today and I am the treasurer and need to get some information ready for the meeting.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  I hope you enter my contest - I need some new ideas for Valentine's Day  from all of you!!  I appreciate you.

Blessing from Yesterday:  Feeling better than I did the last 4 days.

  1. Sue, for Valentine's Day, I keep it low-key. I make cards for my hubby and two boys. The boys also get little V-Day buckets, which I bought at HL a few years ago, with some candy in them. I'm thinking this year of making tags mounted on sticks to put in their buckets instead of cards, but we shall see.

Don't enter me in the drawing, please. I don't have time to read a book about Copics!

I am so glad you're feeling better!

  2. That would be a wonderful win! I usually leave goodies out for the kiddos in the morning and then make everybody's lunches with as many heart shapes and pink and red shades as I can. Hoping to make a cheesecake this year for hubby.

  3. Thanks for the opportunity! We actually don't do Valentine's day. My hubby is pretty sentimental and doesn't see why we should celebrate a day that means nothing to us - instead we celebrate at the end of April (the day we met).

  4. @ Karen - We celebrate that day, too. Ours is next week.

  5. Your card is beautiful and worth all the effort to line up those gorgeous squares! Love it! We've never really celebrated Valentines Day, it's usually just a nice meal together at home. Thanks for the chance to win, this book looks amazing.

  6. I prepare a cake and cards for my hubby and 2 girls. My daughters also make cards for me in the school and we cut the cake and enjoy time with each other. Thanks for the wonderful book. I love coloring.

  7. Goodness me, I've been wanting this book for ages now - I have a huge stash of copics and don't use them as well as I'd like. How lucky for you to have two!

Valentines day isn't very big in my house - mainly because it's just my young son and I. I always make a little 3x3 card and hide it in his school lunch bag with a couple of little chocolate treats - I hope he's not getting to an age where it will embarrass him because I love doing it and then waiting for his response when he is home from school. I'm sure it is much more exciting for me than for him lol.

  8. I love this card and know how hard it is to line everything up. I'm with with lostinpaper. It's well worth the effort! I'm hoping to fix a granola for my hubby for Valentine's Day. Last year it was a big hit. For me it was big hips, but he's worth the sacrifice! So glad you're feeling better.

  10. Gorgeous card Sue, love it and I can only imagine how hard it was to line up those squares. Valentine's Day in our house is birthday celebration for my hubby. Yep, he's a Valentine's Baby :-) We generally take him for dinner, cake and a gift.
