Anyone Want to Partae?????

Update: I'm adding a roll of Stampin'Up! taffeta ribbon to this prize. Is there any one of you in Bloggerland that would NOT want a brand, spankin' new Stampin'Up! stamp set??? That's what I thought. If I had the opportunity for a FREE STAMP SET of my choosing I'd go for it! Here's the deal: My birthday is one month from today and I'd like you to help me celebrate. I will give away a new Stampin'Up! stamp set from the Fall Cattie to the winner - winner gets to choose any one set for $23.95 or less. In order to have your name entered in the contest you have to make a card for the troops and send it to me. Your card needs to be made with the BEST quality of stuff and needs to include some layering and embellishments. This should be a THANK YOU card and you'll need to write a note inside to a soldier, thanking them. You'll need to sign your name. After the contest is over I will then send all of these cards to this gal http://www.angelstampersforsoldiers.com/as4s/ . Please take a look at her web site - she has a list of guidelines for the cards. But SEND THEM TO ME - otherwise I can't judge them. Oh, wait a minute, I'm not going to judge them - heheheh - I've got a team of hot Super Stampers that will be judging them. I'm keeping the judges identity a secret until I announce the winner. The judges will receive photos of all of the card entries (creator of card will be kept anonymous). Did you really think I wanted that responsibility?? Now, even if you don't win the stamp set you'll still be a winner in some soldier's book - can't beat that, now can you?
I need all cards to me no later than September 7th - judges make their final decision on September 8th - my birthday - so don't tarry if you want to enter. I'm a stickler for deadlines!! Come on all of you - let's have fun with this and show our support for the troops. When your card is ready to send to me, email me for my address: berkerster@gmail.com

The card I made this morning was a very simple one. It's going this week to my husband's son. Images copyright Stampin'Up! 1990-2007. Thank you for the visit.

Your timing is just so perfect! I was just talking this morning with the owner of the local scrapbooking store, and telling her I would like it if we could have a special crop night and make cards for soldiers to send to their families, but I didn't know any organization that takes care of that.

So it's wonderful, I'll check the website you mention....
And might very well enter your contest also! :-)

Thanks!

Great idea! I'll tell ya, nothin' in this world beats an email from a soldier thanking you for a card. I got the sweetest one a few years ago at Christmas time. Even my little one was impressed and moved...it really takes so little to lift a far away soldier's spirits...

Hi, my hubbie went to San Antonio and took some educators on a tour of the burn unit and the new amputee unit for the military. He took a bunch of cards we made and my friends poured even more out so we have a bunch for him to mail or if his commander is going back down sooner. We had funny cards, serious, pretty and you name it. It was fun to see the different styles. We may send the last bunch to the Fisher House (like a Ronald McDonald House but for the military patient's families to stay at while recovering). Some made cards for the military patients to mail to their families since they can not walk into a store and buy one other than the canteen at the hospital. So, I am all for this. Now, I gotta get creative again and make something special for this. See, if I could win a new stamp set - I could make all that many more cards! Our nephew was in Iraq and was hurt but has now been reassigned to Korea. So, I guess I had better make more for him and others who commented in your blog with relatives. Thanks again!

My guess is that if you take the www. off the email address and try it again your emails will go through. Usually the www. is just for websites not email addys. I just sent an email asking for the address - so guess we'll find out soon if my assumption is correct. ;-)

Hello! I made a card for the troops and all I need is your address. I sent an email to you last week but didn't get a response, so I am thinking that it got lost somewhere along the way. Please email me at cak_ie@hotmail.com with your address. Thanks!
